In 2004, West Yorkshire Workforce Development Confederation appointed CragRats to deliver ‘West Yorkshire Simulated Patients’. The aim was to draw together all SP practice and provide a single resource within the region. This continues to be the case with the SP resource being back under NHS management.
In 2007, the SHA’s geographical remit changed to encompass all of Yorkshire and the Humber. If you are a healthcare organisation or HEI within this region, you will be able to apply to our Development Fund and receive subsidised SP sessions.
To secure subsidised training for your organisation, successful applications to the Development Fund must demonstrate:
- Commitment to the continued use of simulated patients should financial support reduce / cease in future years, with a view to embedding use within future training programmes
- Commitment to the continued development of the resource
- Commitment to evaluating the success of training programmes in which simulated patients have been employed
- Commitment to Interprofessional Learning
- Commitment to Patient and Public Involvement
- Commitment to Continued Professional Development
- Commitment to improving the provision of patient care
